Great hotel. We arrived a little late in evening but the team were really helpful in getting food for dinner even though the kitchen had closed. All the staff were really helpful, friendly Food for dinner and breakfast of great quality Hotel furnishings, quality and bedroom lovely and reflecting the beach - sea area Would highly recommend to stay as a place to go to the beach, Rye and surrounding area. We will be back in the summer for sure
We had a gorgeous weekend. the atmosphere is so laid back and charming it feels like a home from home. We loved the little extras - night time tea in our room. Coffees in the morning we could help ourselves to, cake at 4, wine and cheese at 5. Generous and warm. We had great service but especially from the fantastic front of office manager from South Africa, Ulendi. He was incredible. And the yoga was such high quality I loved it. We will come back in the summer for certain.
Yet again the Gallivant Team have spoilt us and made our Valentines visit full of happy memories. Naketa and Muli are just the best ‘Happiness ambassadors’ ever, always love catching up with them. Johnathon never ceases to make us the best drinks and suggestions tarte tatin must have calvados accompanying it! We met Ynique for the first time at dinner and she excelled with her serving skills and friendly banter. Kit and Jasmine were fresh faced and fun for breakfast which is always delicious. Finally our room, Irish Sea, lovely decor, great view to the garden and immaculately dressed for our stay. Thank you everyone 🙏🏻
Another absolutely wonderful stay at the Gallivant. The weather was terrible but the staff, facilities, rooms and food made up for the driving rain. All the staff went out of their way to make our time at the hotel absolutely wonderful - thanks so much! The room was incredibly comfortable, beautifully decorated and had absolutely everything we needed. Dinner was delicious - particularly the main course of hake: wow! Breakfast made us want to linger for another day but - no surprise - it was booked, even in gloomy February. We just wished we could have taken up the offer of a bottle of wine and stargazing on the beach - but the beautiful bar was so much cosier.
We really enjoyed our visit. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful which made our stay very enjoyable indeed. Food was perfect and the selection of English wines and spirts was impressive. Exceeded our expectations even though our son had stayed with you and mentioned how nice it was. We will return in the near future.
This was my second visit to The Gallivant and it won’t be my last! I love the relaxed atmosphere, morning yoga, friendly staff and wonderful food served at Harry’s restaurant. The location across the road from the beach is ideal if you want to walk, or sit and watch the sea and sunset, and Rye is a few miles down the road if you want to potter around. It’s a fantastic bolt-hole from London - I’m already planning my next visit.
