Anna - excellent at her job, warm and cheerful, made us feel like family. Louisa - quiet, but very good, observant and quick to learn. Jon - very knowledgeable, enjoyed our wine chats, a star. We had 4 glorious days at The Gallivant, gorgeous room, and all the staff were very focused on customer service. We picked our top three, but Elton, Monty and Elizabeth also deserve a mention. Housekeeping was very good. And finally, Jamie’s Rye Bay brill to share was absolutely delicious. We could go on and on, but you know what you do well, so keep doing it. Thank you, Ian and Lesley x.
Hi, Everything from the moment we arrived until we were farewelled was excellent, a really impressive stay and dinner, please congratulate the team, providing service and quality at this level is not easy, but it was definitely achieved.
We had a lovely stay at The Gallivant Everyone was welcoming, attentive but low key in a perfect way they enabled a really relaxing break. The food was delicious and of great quality - the real highlight of our stay. Would happily recommend to friends.
Hi Elise, I can honestly say our stay with you was fantastic. I called to say we were going to be late on Friday and everyone was aware and very flexible. We didn't feel rushed, and I'm aware we were probably last to sit down for dinner. I don't know the name of the girl that was on reception and I can't find her on your site, but she was great. The food throughout the weekend was really good. We were talking about which dish we liked best on Sunday and it was all really good. Great service from Corey, Lucy and Elton. The room was perfect for a couple of nights and fitted in really well with the relaxed seaside feel. One thing I was unsure about was having to book dinner and breakfast times in advance, but actually worked really well and gave us a little bit of structure. I'd love to give you some constructive feedback, but I really can't fault it. We had a great time. Thanks, Tim.
We loved staying at The Gallivant. We loved the ambience, the friendly and welcoming staff (Paul, Corey, Lucy and Elton), the books, the fab 50s surf vibe, and all the food and wine were really good. Many thanks
Hi Elise We had a lovely stay made even better by arriving on a stormy night, having booked at short notice and not really researched where we would be, other than on the coast near Rye. We love the interiors and furnishings. the cosy room and the food which was excellent. The wine waiter was entertaining and so knowledgeable. Ok so here are a couple of tiny observations. No one was around at 11 am check out time and there were three couples/individuals waiting including ourselves. We had an appointment in Dover so we had to leave. Did not quite understand the bag by door tea arrangement so when we woke and took the bag in we found only herb tea and luke warm water. Obviously water must have boiling water for tea and we do like milk and a tad of sugar. This may have been our fault, I am not sure. Our next night was at The Pig in Bridge where of course the rooms are huge so having room for tea making facilities was not a problem, for example fridge, kettle, coffee machine and so on. But they did however only offer gluten free biscuits which were like compressed sawdust. I only mention this as I know it is important to cater for all tastes these days, but hotels must take care not to be so up to date that they forget the majority. We will definitely come again and have already recommended you to our family and friends. Regards Barry and Michelle Sames
