Well it was a 3 day blow the cobwebs away break for us , never been to stay with you before , but what a great little find you are , firstly we were greeted by young monty, as he was our very first port of call , I have to say, what a perfect , polite, lovely young man to have at check in , and from then on every member of staff we met, carried on that vein, all the staff were happy, chatty, informative, and just generally nice people , it was like staying with friends , As for the hotel , just great , food in the restaurant was excellent, drinks perfect , the emphasis on local food and English wine , just great , our room ( large Hampton) was lovely , good lighting, plenty of storage , if there was a minor suggestion it would be a couple of hooks in the bathroom , either for towels, or robes , just a trivial thing , but something that could very easily be added, the day bed in the room, and the nightly tea , great touches, all in all we had a really nice stay , in a very well run and pretty little hotel , lovely an clean too , We will return , but we will also recommend to our friends , a few of which are dog lovers , it was lovely to see there was rooms set aside for dogs , well done !, and thank you for a great couple of days , Michelle and Anthony leeman room 12 , Tuesday 28th till today , see you all again sometime , happy 2022!

A wonderful second stay at the Gallivant. After a busy year (and busier than expected Christmas) it was wonderful to walk through the doors and really relax. As my husband puts it the Gallivant is 'classy but not pretentious'. It feels like you've come to stay with friends in their very nice home. And the little details make all the difference - 5pm wine, sleepy tea, lovely toiletries. Dinner and breakfast were gorgeous, as were the drinks from the really well curated bar list. Our garden room was cosy and comfortable, with a great overhead shower. I just wish we could have stayed for more than 1 night...maybe next time!

The staff at the Gallivant were absolutely amazing, they all went above and beyond to make our stay as special as possible. The added extras and personal touches made it even more exceptional. The food was delicious and of a really high standard! The rooms were superb and extremely comfortable! We will definitely be coming back!

Have stayed at the Gallivant before, but this was our first Christmas. It was well worth going, super hospitality, great food, very comfy rooms a Christmas to remember - hopefully we be able to get in again next year.

Just returned from an excellent stay, couldn’t fault anything we enjoyed every aspect of our stay,. We where welcomed by Monty who was so friendly he made us feel relaxed and welcome as soon as we stepped through the door. Every time we saw him he was so friendly and always polite with a big smile definitely a credit to the team. We had outstanding service from all of the staff which was much appreciated, special mention to Elton for super efficient breakfast service and compliments to all kitchen staff as we enjoyed our dinner immensely . We found the bedroom Cosy and snug and so comfortable felt like our own little beach cabin and we loved the individual touches, birthday postcard, home made madelines and goodnight tea bag, keep doing what you are doing we wouldn’t change a thing , can’t wait to return . We loved our stay. The room was perfect. We loved all the thoughtful touches - sleepy tea at night, glass of wine, tea and cake. Really impressed with the decor generally and the bar / lounge was so comfortable Breakfast was incredible - those sausages! Loved all the juices and breakfast pots. Dinner was good, our mains was room temperature the first night (fish) so possibly the kitchen was struggling. 2nd night it was perfect. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, a pure delight. We will definitely come again!
