Really fabulous stay. After having Covid over Christmas, this really was the trip we needed! Your staff were so friendly and willing to help. Beautiful interiors. Loved all the thoughtful touches like wine at 5 and elevensies. I used to work for Small Luxury Hotels of the World and have stayed in some incredible hotels around the world, The Gallivant is now up there at the top. Just one tiny thing - toilet brushes in the rooms would be good! Thank you for upgrading our room, much appreciated.

We absolutely loved our stay! It was magical. I would suggest that we would have liked proper cups in our room as the beakers got very hot when we had our tea. I was very impressed by the housekeeping team who always seemed to know when we were out of the room to tidy up. I would also suggest one bottle of bubble bath or bath salts to enjoy in the tub.

We have had a fab stay over New Year. Everything was perfect. The food was absolutely incredible and delicious, the staff are amazing. The whole stay was relaxing and we felt that nothing was too much trouble when we asked. Thank you so much and thank you for the lovely sparkling wine you gave us when we left. We will definitely be back.

We also enjoyed interacting with Paul B about English wines and the pairing with food ,Being French, I love working out the dovetailing of food and wine and your team is doing exactly that . We love your concept about kooking after your workforce well. They are your strength and are a representation of the ethos of Gallivant. We have a business too in structural engineering and we believe in investing passionately in people . It is our third visit : we came for New Year 2017, Easter 2018 and we are not disappointed as returned guests . Monty’s smile is most welcoming. Well it was a 3 day blow the cobwebs away break for us , never been to stay with you before , but what a great little find you are , firstly we were greeted by young monty, as he was our very first port of call , I have to say, what a perfect , polite, lovely young man to have at check in , and from then on every member of staff we met, carried on that vein, all the staff were happy, chatty, informative, and just generally nice people , it was like staying with friends , As for the hotel , just great , food in the restaurant was excellent, drinks perfect , the emphasis on local food and English wine , just great , our room ( large Hampton) was lovely , good lighting, plenty of storage , if there was a minor suggestion it would be a couple of hooks in the bathroom , either for towels, or robes , just a trivial thing , but something that could very easily be added, the day bed in the room, and the nightly tea , great touches, all in all we had a really nice stay , in a very well run and pretty little hotel , lovely an clean too , We will return , but we will also recommend to our friends , a few of which are dog lovers , it was lovely to see there was rooms set aside for dogs , well done !, and thank you for a great couple of days , Michelle and Anthony leeman room 12 , Tuesday 28th till today , see you all again sometime , happy 2022!

A wonderful second stay at the Gallivant. After a busy year (and busier than expected Christmas) it was wonderful to walk through the doors and really relax. As my husband puts it the Gallivant is 'classy but not pretentious'. It feels like you've come to stay with friends in their very nice home. And the little details make all the difference - 5pm wine, sleepy tea, lovely toiletries. Dinner and breakfast were gorgeous, as were the drinks from the really well curated bar list. Our garden room was cosy and comfortable, with a great overhead shower. I just wish we could have stayed for more than 1 night...maybe next time!
