Having discovered beautiful Rye some 8 years ago, we have made several holiday visits there, but have always stayed in the town, until we discovered the hidden charms of the Gallivant at the beginning of September this year. As it was at the end of our last visit, we only had the pleasure of enjoying 3 meals and 1 overnight stay with you, which was simply not enough to enjoy the special attention and many delights of the hotel. We were most impressed by the quality of staff and attention to detail but would like to give a special thanks to Lindsay and Paul B who not only made us feel so welcome, but impressed us by their professionalism and customer skills. Nothing was too much trouble and they were both able to make us feel so relaxed from the moment we met them, adding to the enjoyment of our stay. The addition of the electric charging points in the car park were a big plus for us, enabling us to recharge our car overnight for the journey home the following day. From start to finish, the whole team made us feel extremely welcome and very special throughout our stay. All of your team were so friendly and attentive throughout our stay but Elise, Dan and the lady who showed us to our room & gave us a dog bed initially were particularly friendly so thank you all.

We loved the Gallivant! What a find. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed as house guests invited into an exclusive hideaway and felt truly special. The framed vintage bathing suits and beautiful coastal artworks, the Hamptons-esque décor and the nooks and crannies were a constant source of delight. Dinner and drinks, including the ever so good English wine, were all delivered by warm, friendly and helpful staff who offered excellent recommendations on dinner (Lindsay), running routes (Hamish) and cocktails (Paul). There's a wonderful family feel about this gem... Our Luxury Garden Room was just dreamy, with lovely personal touches (Hastings gin, proper tea, luxe products, beautiful cushions) and with doors out onto the Med-inspired garden lovingly tendered by Fiona, where we sipped chilled Springfield Chardonnay, convinced we were actually in Puglia! Dinner was a feast of super fresh locally sourced seafood and lamb with some fab wine pairings (thanks Paul). Beach towels and blankets for the sand dunes, fresh coffee and cake, yoga, brunch on the sunny plant-filled terrace, swims in the sea.... this is such a special place and we can't wait to come back! Thanks to everyone we met on our 2 night stay for looking after us so well and making us feel so at home and relaxed, and for allowing us to pause on real life and have so much fun. Special thanks to Lindsay, Hamish, Paul, Louisa, Paige, Monty and Scottie - and all those whose names we didn't catch. We had a lovely stay at the Gallivant, the thing that most stood out for us was the amazing food at the restaurant, great fresh ingredients, amazing flavours and textures. The room was lovely and everything we needed was there, friendly staff and just a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful location just across from the beach. Thank you
