Thank you for taking such good care of us. We arrived freezing cold, upset and soaked to the skin having cycled from Appledore through a storm. The reception staff quickly got us settled in our beautiful room and kindly offered to tumble dry my husband’s only top. The 5pm wine was a lovely experience with skilful service and excellent recommendations and the quality of our dinner and breakfast (thank you for the cheerful service Anna) was simply outstanding. Completely sublime plates. It is clear the whole Gallivant team are happy and real professionals. The nighttime tea service was a lovely, thoughtful touch. Lastly I’d like to recognise the two staff members who helped us at checkout. Again quick and friendly and then bringing round our bikes that had been carefully stored in the maintenance shed for us. The gardens were gorgeous, even strolling to and from the restaurant was calming and really reminded us of our time living in California. We won’t hesitate to recommend The Gallivant to friends and family, it was an absolute treat for a night away. Thank you all! Ps only request is please I stall a bike rack!

Really lovely stay, staff good!

Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely bedroom, lovely spot. Would recommend. Also love the reusable water bottles and refill stations for water. You could lose the single use coffee cups though, no one needs those! And as a vegan i would have loved more choice of food as we stayed two nights, but the food we did have was wonderful! Thank you.

Everything lovely at Gallivant. The staff are all outstandingly friendly. Crystal is so helpful, explained everything with a big happy smile. But all the waiting staff were lovely and the lady who cleans always engaged us with a friendly chat. What a team

We had a wonderful stay. All the staff were welcoming and charming. It felt like a home from home. We asked for a change of towels and sheets and there was no hesitation. Breakfasts were great and our Italian waitress was very passionate about providing us with everything we needed. The lady manager was also very charming and we had some lovely conversations. The whole experience was fabulous from a wonderful welcome to a goodie box of cookies and cakes to take away with us too! The room was very clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the service impeccable! I enjoyed a lovely Yoga class with India on Saturday morning while my husband relaxed before breakfast. My husbands sausage was a little cold on the second morning but he didn’t want to make a big thing of it as he enjoyed the rest… Thank you! We look forward to returning sometime in the future for another little escape from the family! 🤣
