What a breath of fresh air, literally! A young competent and engaged staff, helpful, kind and fun. The food was utterly superb and far better than the 3 Star Michelin restaurant we experienced 5 days earlier in Reims. A lovely experience, WELL DONE!

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Gallivant! First impressions are everything - being greeted at the front door of the hotel by the team (and not seeing them standing behind a desk) immediately made me feel welcome. Lindsay, Head of Rooms and Residents optimises the hotels theme of "happiness" with her infectious smile and eagerness to make your stay special. I could not fault the hotel itself, the rooms are beautifully designed with all the little touches that you would expect and the open spaces are warm, well lit and again beautifully decorated. The themes of "cake time" and "wine at five" really encourage you to relax in the main bar area and are a fantastic opportunity to sample local English wine. The evening meal at Harry's was delicious, Sophie was so friendly and attentive. To top it all off, I enjoyed a very relaxing morning yoga session with India and a ginger shot to start my day, the perfect 24 hours! The Gallivant really is special, whether you're sitting by the fire hiding from the rain or returning after a long walk on the beach it is full of cosiness.

We loved our stay - thank you so much. I've got a terrible memory for names but the lovely woman who welcomed us on Tuesday night was fantastic - as was everyone in fact. We really loved the hotel and will be back. Thanks for everything. (Breakfast especially appreciated by my 19year old daughter)

My son held his wedding at this hotel and it was truly wonderful. We stayed 2 nights and the rooms were perfect - comfortable beds, a lovely door on to a patio and the hotel garden; the bathroom was also perfect (very rare in my experience) - fabulous shampoo, showergel and lotion - a place to hang towels and an excellent shower tho being a short person I would like a lower shower head as well as the top one. The breakfast was incredible and plentiful. All the staff were fantastic and welcoming throughout our whole stay - esp Lindsay and Agnes (who I had a lot to do with sorting a few things out for the wedding) - so calm and helpful and supportive. The food was delicious and the service incredible. I love the games provided and the seating in the lounge/bar area is so comfortable. Plus the thoughtful provision of foot wear and blankets etc for the dunes opposite. All in all a wonderful experience - and for a perfect wedding.

We decided on a last minute break and had heard good things about The Gallivant. We were not disappointed :) Lots of nice touches, the evening dinner was great and the staff especially friendly and welcoming. We will be returning!
